Interior Wood Shutters Fitted in Knocklyon

These mild cream coloured shutters were fitted recently to this porch area in a house in Knocklyon  in Dublin.

Plantation shutters really are a great solution for glass panels at the sides of hall doors. This is because, unlike most blind types, the shutters don’t blow about or break easily from opening doors and regular use.

For taller shutters like these ones beside the hall door, a mid-rail is required to give the shutter extra strength. We usually locate the around the same height as the door handle.

We’ve also installed a large shutter to a larger window in this porch to match the other 2. On the larger window , there are 2 separate groups of louvres , allowing the bottom section of louvres to close, while the top half stays open.
